Workplace platform

On Google Play

MyCo

One app holding a company's directory, notice board, events, front desk and documents. The product most of my work lives in.

  • Employee directory with built-in intercom
  • Events, front office and vendor management
  • Document storage with access rules

Face attendance

On Google Play

Lens MyCo

Attendance by looking at the camera. Built to work on shop floors and in corridors, at the light levels those places actually have.

  • ML Kit Vision with Amazon Rekognition
  • Tuned for uneven light and mid-range sensors
  • Syncs directly into the main MyCo records

Admin MyCo

The administrator's side of the platform. Everything needed to run an organisation from a phone.

  • People, roles and permissions
  • Reporting built around the questions admins ask
  • Approvals without opening a laptop

ChefBites app icon

Food delivery

On Google Play

ChefBites

Fifty restaurants in a single ordering flow. My first app in front of the public, and a thorough education in edge cases.

  • Multi-restaurant browsing and search
  • Delivery and pickup in one checkout
  • Order tracking that survives a dropped connection

Independent project

Password Manager

A vault that never contacts a server. AES-256 on the device, no account, no sync, no telemetry.

  • AES-256, keys stay on the device
  • Offline by design
  • Jetpack Compose on a clean architecture spine

02/Experience

Junior to senior
in three years

Building across both sides of the product, the native Android app and the Flutter modules replacing it.

  • Continue moving modules from native Android to Flutter, feature parity first.
  • Build and maintain features in both the native app and the Flutter modules.
  • Keep rendering performance, startup time and download size in check.
  • Work through data contracts and screen behaviour with backend and design before building.

FlutterDartKotlinAndroidRESTPerformance

Trusted with the Dynamic Report module, the most complex area of the product, and its move to Flutter.

  • Rebuilt Dynamic Report from native Android to Flutter with full feature parity.
  • Built shared Dart widgets that other modules adopted, reducing duplicated UI code.
  • Implemented the data layer: API integration, business rules and state with Provider, Riverpod and BLoC.
  • Profiled and optimised rendering to hold a steady frame rate through transitions.
  • Kept the migrated screens consistent with the existing Android experience.

FlutterDartBLoCRiverpodProviderREST

Delivered the platform migrations that kept a large product current.

  • Led the Android 14 upgrade across the app, delivered with no user-facing regressions.
  • Migrated the team from Butterknife to DataBinding, reducing app size and simplifying the view layer.
  • Moved the architecture from MVC to MVVM, module by module, alongside ongoing feature work.
  • Integrated PhonePe payments, Amazon Rekognition and ML Kit Vision for face-based attendance.
  • Raised crash-free sessions through focused stability work, which lifted the store rating.

KotlinJavaMVVMDataBindingAWS RekognitionML Kit

First professional role, on a consumer food delivery app.

  • Delivered UI and feature work across the ordering flow.
  • Refined screens where user feedback showed people were slowing down.
  • Optimised performance for mid-range devices.

03/Approach

How I
Work

I joined a large Android product in 2023 and have shipped in it ever since. That has meant owning the migrations that keep a codebase current: Android 14, Butterknife to DataBinding, MVC to MVVM. Each one delivered module by module, while feature work carried on around it.

It has also meant depth in a few places. Face recognition with ML Kit Vision and Amazon Rekognition, running dependably on mid-range devices in real workplaces. Payments through PhonePe. And most recently the Dynamic Report module, the most complex area of the product, rebuilt in Flutter with full feature parity.

01

Understand before changing

I read the module and its history first. The clearest changes come from knowing why the current code exists.

02

Verify on real devices

A mid-range phone on an unreliable connection is the real target. I test there before calling something done.

03

Leave it documented

Clear commits, a short README, a note on the decision. It keeps the team fast six months later.

05/Off the clock

Where the rest
of my time goes

Since Oct 2022

VolunTeacher

All India Rural Empowerment Program

AIREP runs on an idea it calls VolunTeaching: people from every kind of job giving a day to rural communities around the country. I go out to villages in Gujarat with them. Some of it is classroom time, a lot of it is sitting with people and working out what would actually be useful.

2016

Student Fundraiser

Smile Foundation

Raised funds for children's education while at school, going door to door across the neighbourhood.

06/Questions

What I'm
asked most

I'm a senior mobile engineer at Communities Heritage Limited (CHL Group) in Ahmedabad, India. I build and maintain Android and Flutter applications, mainly the MyCo workplace platform and its companion apps on Google Play.

Kotlin and the Android SDK for native work, Flutter and Dart for cross-platform. Day to day that means Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, MVVM and Clean Architecture, BLoC and Riverpod, Retrofit and Room, Firebase, plus ML Kit Vision and Amazon Rekognition for the vision features.

I have worked professionally since March 2023, first at XcelTec and then at CHL Group, where I moved from junior Android developer to senior mobile engineer.

Four apps on Google Play: MyCo, Lens MyCo, Admin MyCo and ChefBites. I also led the Android 14 migration and the Butterknife to DataBinding move on a large production codebase, and rebuilt the Dynamic Report module from native Android into Flutter.

A Master of Computer Applications at Parul University, completed in 2026 with a CGPA of 8.89 out of 10, and a B.Sc. in Information Technology at GLS University, Ahmedabad.

I am open to senior mobile engineering roles and to well-defined freelance builds. Email ideepaknishadd@gmail.com or message me on LinkedIn and I will reply.

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, on IST. I work on-site today and I am comfortable with remote and hybrid teams across Indian and European time zones.
